A drawing he did of music icon, Prince, was one of the
exceptions. “I sold four Prince originals,” he said. Other
celebrity drawings have included actors, Brad Pitt, and
James Earl Jones, and singers, Michael Jackson, Adele,
and Ed Sheeran. He also did President Obama and for-
          mer First Lady, Michelle Obama.

“I sell original works of art and not prints,” he said. Be-
cause of social media, Eubanks said he gets requests for
his work from all over and has followers. He met his
artistic mentor on Facebook, who helped to guide him
through the business side of things. “Ron white, who I
met on Facebook, became my artistic mentor,” he said.
“He saw my drawings and wanted to put some of them
in his gallery, Shades of Grey. Ron guided me in how to
price my work and in setting up my website,” he said.

Before he took up art full time, Eubanks, 54, worked
in manufacturing, he said. “I attended school at Cen-
tral Carolina Community College, in Sanford, where I
learned machining and computer numerical control op-
erations.” Prior to that he lived in Asheville. He moved
with his family to this part of the state in 1992, he said,
and then moved to Harnett County five or six years ago,
with his wife and two daughters.

“If I wasn’t an artist, I would like to run a big corpo-
ration, like Microsoft, so I could make other people’s
dreams come true,” he said. “Making people happy mo-
tivates me. I’d like to have enough money to put smiles
on people’s faces. I love life and seeing people smile. If
I can be a part of that, it makes me happy.”

The other thing that makes Eubanks happy is drawing.
“I draw every day,” he said. His preferred medium is Prince
charcoal or graphite art pencils on paper. He works in a Page 15
